CAPS Investigator Support Services
Services are available to any CAPS member who is engaged in active health services and patient centered research. CAPS Investigator Support can assist with patient care services and related health outcome research by analysis of complex databases including clinical and cancer registries, qualitative and survey research, intervention studies and randomized behavioral intervention trials, community-based research and measures and outcome assessment. 

Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office
The National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN) designated the MCW Cancer Center as a Lead Academic Participating Site (LAPS) for the strength and innovation of its ongoing research and science and robust participation in its clinical trials.

Center for Infectious Disease Shared Resources
The mission of the Center for Infectious Disease Research (CIDR), is to enhance research efforts that focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms of pathogenesis related to infection with microorganisms, viruses, fungi or parasites. These efforts also include programs to define host factors contributing to disease resistance or susceptibility, host recognition of foreign materials and the innate and adaptive immune responses following exposure to infectious organisms.

Clinical Research Data Warehouse
The Clinical Research Data Warehouse allows access to searchable data tools including TriNet X (>2M local patients) and the ENACT (Accrual to Clinical Trials) Network SHRINE Query Tool to define research populations and validate feasibility for clinical studies. Prior to IRB approval researchers can access deidentified data but can request honest broker services when once IRB approval is obtained (IRB approval does not guarantee identified Honesy Broker approval).

Epidemiology Data Resource Center
The EDRC is the Medical College of Wisconsin's centralized resource for secondary health and demographic data. The EDRC also provides expertise in the use of spatial data and geographic information systems, or GIS.

IRB Fee Billing Core
MCW Human Research Protection Program’s (HRPP) primary mission is to protect the rights, welfare and privacy of all individuals participating in research sponsored by the Medical College of Wisconsin, Froedtert Health and Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin. The HRPP oversees and supports the MCW Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) which review all research studies involving human subjects for safety, compliance with regulations, scientific quality, and ethical standards. 

MCW Clinical Trials Office
In its role as a vital arm of Clinical and Translational Research at the Medical College of Wisconsin and all CTSI partner institutions, our mission is to provide comprehensive clinical research infrastructure and research training to facilitate the work of clinical investigators in a timely, efficient, and customer-friendly manner, while supporting the safe and ethical conduct of clinical research and enhancing the quality of the research experience for study participants.

MCW Engineering Core
The Engineering Core is a specialized team of biomedical engineers dedicated to supporting MCW’s medical research effort by expertly designing, fabricating, repairing, and calibrating research instrumentation tailored to lab-specific needs. By providing these services in-house at a fraction of the cost of commercial vendors, the Core enables cutting-edge research while maximizing budget efficiency.

MCW Libraries and Poster Printing
The MCW Libraries poster printing service is an internal resource for MCW faculty, staff, students and residents. Non-academic posters may be printed on a case-by-case basis, but in all instances the submitter must have an employment or enrollment relationship with MCW. We can accommodate requests from staff at clinical affiliates (Froedtert Hospital, Children's Wisconsin, Versiti Blood Research Institute, VA) as cash or check orders.

OnCore Calendar Requests
OnCore is a user-friendly and comprehensive clinical trial management system (CTMS) that supports day-to-day activities including: Study activation and life-cycle management, Regulatory management, Subject and visit tracking, Financial management, Comprehensive reporting and Electronic data capture. The Office of Research is utilizing the iLab system for OnCore Calendar Build requests.

Radiation Safety Badge Program
The Radiation Safety Badge Program ensures limited exposure to radioactive materials in labs and clinical settings.

Regulatory Affairs Program
The Early-Stage Research Regulatory Oversight Program provides comprehensive regulatory expertise and guidance to investigators conducting early-phase clinical research, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations for Investigational New Drugs and Devices. Resources are available to assist with drafting compliant applications, facilitate electronic submissions to the Agency, and provide guidance on formal communications protocols.

Research Computing Center (Intranet access required)
HPC is the use of high-speed server, storage, and network resources to perform complex calculations. In practice, HPC allows a user to solve problems that are too large for the average desktop or laptop computer. This may include problems that require thousands of cores, or thousands of problems that each require one core.

Therapeutic Accelerator Program Service Center
The Therapeutic Accelerator Program (TAP) in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology serves MCW and Clinical & Translational Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin partner institutions. TAP catalyzes the bench to beside journey, bridging the gap between basic research and the development process. TAP provides advising, project-based funding opportunities, and connections to our network of resources to de-risk and advance technologies along the path to commercialization.
