Biography

My name is Kaitlyn Rhyner (she/her), and I am excited to continue my education at MCW in the Neuroscience Doctoral Program (NDP) this fall! I am a 2023 graduate from UW-Milwaukee (UWM) where I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and General Biology with a Chemistry minor. Currently I’m continuing my undergrad research on carnivorous pitcher plants and their microbiome as lab tech in the Biological Sciences Department at UWM. Additionally, I have been serving as an AmeriCorps member at UWM’s Office of Sustainability where I have broadened my knowledge on health from an environmental and social perspective. My long-term career goal is to study how internal molecular interactions in neural circuitry influence external organism behavior specifically in addiction.

Research Interests
