Financial Aid Information for New/Prospective Students

Financial Aid Deadline

There is no formal deadline; however, students WILL NOT receive their Financial Aid Offer until all application materials have been received and their file has been reviewed.

Please check MCWconnect after December 1 for document status. Document status will be updated within three business days after form submission. Additional documents will be required and available on MCWconnect in May.

Financial Aid Process/Offer Notification Timeline

  1. Submit Financial Aid requirements (Winter/Spring)
  2. Completed files go through review process (Winter/Spring)
  3. Financial Aid Offer notification emails start going out to students (Early Summer)
  4. Complete additional requirements: MPN/Entrance Counseling/Orientation Course/Letter of Appreciation (if required) (Early Summer)
  5. Appointment Notification emails are sent. Student is able to schedule a 1:1 Financial Aid Appointment (Summer)

How to Apply

Once you have interviewed you can start the application process. You do not need to be accepted to start this process.

Forms that are labeled 'Dynamic Form(s)' require creation of a Dynamic Forms account before those requirements can be completed.

Federal Aid Application

The Financial Aid Office receives your results electronically. The 2024-25 FAFSA will open in December; date to be determined.

FAFSA: School code 015611

Financial Aid Application (FAA)

This Financial Aid Application (FAA) will be available in May after you have received MCW credentials (MCW email address). You will be able to access this form through MCWconnect.

Need-Based Institutional Aid Requirement (MD program only)

Parental Assistance Worksheet (PAW) (Dynamic Form)
Form is student initiated. Both the parent and student will need to have a Dynamic Forms account to complete this form.

Private Loan Application

Obtain directly from lender of choice. Do not complete prior to April 1 or the application will expire before certification and a new application will need to be completed.

You are free to use any lender of your choice. To view a list of historical lenders, please review MCW’s FastChoice Site.

Wisconsin Residency Determination (MD program only)
Residency Determination Form (PDF): HEAB form processing can take several months. Do not delay. If you have additional questions, more information is available on the MCW Admissions webpage under How To Apply, Required Forms.

Verification Form
If selected for verification by the U.S. Department of Education, you must complete the verification form in-person at the Financial Aid Office. Please bring a government issued ID (i.e. drivers license).

Authorization for Non Directory Information
If you want any financial aid information to be disclosed to any other person (i.e. parent, spouse, landlord, etc.), you will be required to fill out a Authorization for Non Directory Information form. Please contact the Registrar’s Office for this form.

Permanent Residency Card (Green card)
Please bring your green card to the MCW Financial Aid Office and we will photocopy the card for you. If you become a naturalized citizen while in school, please provide our office with a copy of your papers.

Budgeting Resources

The financial aid budget represents the maximum allowances for each category. Setting a realistic budget will be critical to your financial well-being. Be sure to complete a budget prior to committing to housing and stay within your budget. Previous Aid Year information may be posted until budget for new (upcoming) aid year is determined/released.
