Audaxity, a new bike ride and community movement to accelerate cancer research, will hold its inaugural event on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at American Family Field. Open to people of all ages and abilities, the event brings together researchers, doctors, patients, and supporters from across the nation in a shared mission to drive groundbreaking discoveries at the MCW Cancer Center. With the support of founding sponsor Associated Bank, 100% of funds raised through Audaxity will drive initiatives that make a meaningful impact on people across Wisconsin.
“Our researchers are racing against time to deliver solutions that transform lives. Audaxity is an inspiring example of how a united community can amplify that work. Cancer is relentless, but so are we—we’re determined to drive research discoveries that change its trajectory and create a future where this disease is no longer in control,” said Gustavo Leone, PhD, MCW Cancer Center Director.
Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death in Wisconsin, with rates above the national average and significant disparities in care and outcomes among underserved populations. According to the National Cancer Institute, Black and American Indian/Alaska Native communities across the state experience higher cancer incidence and mortality rates than White populations, often due to limited access to care and later stage diagnoses. The Center is addressing these challenges head-on, pioneering innovative research that is reshaping the way cancer is detected, diagnosed, and treated. By participating in Audaxity—whether riding, volunteering, or fundraising—supporters are directly helping to accelerate cancer research discoveries that can save lives across the state and beyond.
“The power of uniting our community around ending cancer will make Audaxity something unforgettable. Being able to host it at an iconic location makes it even more special for everyone involved. Together, we will end cancer right here in Wisconsin,” said Lauren “LB” Bennett, Audaxity Managing Director.
Audaxity offers ride options for every ability, including a family-friendly 3- to 6-mile cruise, a 25-mile loop, a 50-mile challenge, and a 100-mile century ride for experienced cyclists. The event also welcomes virtual participants, volunteers, and fundraisers, ensuring there’s a way for everyone to contribute to the cause.
“We are excited to join the fight to end cancer, right here in Wisconsin. This event is a testament to what can be accomplished together to directly impact our friends, families, and local communities,” said Andy Harmening, Associated Bank.
Local businesses, community groups, and individuals are already rallying behind the movement. For participants like Nelson Williams, CEO of Briohn Building and volunteer Co-chair of Audaxity, the ride isn’t just about miles—it’s about making a difference for the people he loves. “Knowing that every dollar raised goes directly to cancer research inspires me to ride and build a team of friends, family, and colleagues to join me. I can’t wait to see our roads packed with riders, volunteers, and supporters as we take on this challenge together.”
Scott Lynch of Elm Grove added, “As a lung cancer survivor, I am all in on being a part of Audaxity. Training is underway, and I am looking forward to adding my energy and network to the mission.”
“Audaxity is about assembling a united team to end cancer,” said Bennett. “Connected with that common goal, that team will be the greatest team of all time. There are unlimited roster spots for those wanting to create a world without cancer. Join us!”
