Dr. Stephanie Olivier-Van Stichelen Discusses Artificial Sweeteners on Wisconsin Public Radio
The World Health Organization recently released a pair of recommendations suggesting that non-sugar sweeteners should not be used for weight loss and that the artificial sweetener Aspartame has the possibility of being carcinogenic. Dr. Stephanie Olivier-Van Stichelen, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, who researches sweeteners, recently joined Wisconsin Public Radio for an interview to explain how the body processes them and what we should know for our health.
