Biography
With a career spanning academia, local government, and community-based organizations, Jennifer brings a rich tapestry of experience and expertise. Her professional journey has afforded her the opportunity to serve on private, R1, for-profit, public, and online campuses, where she honed her skills in leading retention and recruitment programs for students in the sciences.
Jennifer's impact beyond academia includes her role in operationalizing the nation's first municipal declaration of racism as a public health epidemic for Milwaukee County. Most recently she led the Institute for Poverty and Systemic Racism at the Social Development Commission in Milwaukee—spearheading research and policy efforts. Moreover, she is deeply passionate about bridging the gap between academia, community, and municipal partners.
In her current role, Jennifer provides leadership and oversight for various initiatives, working hand-in-hand with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of programs aimed at injury prevention and control. She will also play a key role in our strategic planning efforts, resource management, and fostering a culture of health equity and innovation.
As a dedicated community servant, philanthropist, and family-oriented woman--Jennifer is actively engaged in a variety of community serving capacities and boards. She is an active member of the Epsilon Kappa Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Incorporated and Jack and Jill of America, Inc. (Milwaukee Chapter).
