Biography
Reggie Moore serves as the director of Community Safety Policy and Engagement for the Comprehensive Injury Center at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He works to advance the capacity of violence prevention policy and practice in Wisconsin and throughout the country. In 2021, he facilitated the development and launch of Wisconsin’s first Community Safety Fund. A $10.5M investment supporting local programs advancing a public health approach to violence prevention throughout the state. Prior to his current role, he led the development of Milwaukee’s first comprehensive violence prevention plan known as the Blueprint for Peace. The Blueprint takes a public health approach to addressing the root causes of violence and trauma in Milwaukee and coincided with a steady 4-year decline in homicides and non-fatal shootings in Milwaukee from 2016-2019. In addition to his work in Wisconsin, he has provided technical assistance and support to communities throughout the country and has served as a subject matter specialist for the Community Based Public Safety Collective, City of Cleveland, Prevention Institute, CF Leads, Grantmakers in Health and the National OVP Network. Throughout his career Reggie has led local and national efforts at the Center for Youth Engagement, Public Allies, Urban Underground, Movement Strategy Center in Oakland, CA, and The Truth Initiative in Washington, DC. He has also volunteered his time with several local and national organizations including the Funders Collaborative on Youth Organizing and the Prevention Institute. An organizer at his core, Reggie has dedicated his life to being a champion for social change, community safety, and public health.
