Medical College of Wisconsin Magnetoencephalography (MEG) Resources
Instrumentation
Our Program is equipped with state-of-the-art MEG instrumentation.
- Elekta Vectorview: 306 MEG channels (204 planar gradiometers and 102 magnetometers)
- 60 simultaneous EEG channels
- Simultaneous ECG, EOG recordings
- Simultaneous recording of 8 analog channels (for e.g. audio, respiration, skin conductance, etc.)
- All channels sampled at up to 5KHz
- Magnetic shielding provided by a 7-tons magnetically-shielded room with active flux compensation (MaxShield™ technology, Elekta)
- Online head-movement monitoring and offline correction provided by MaxMove™ technology (Elekta)
Lab space and program suite
Comprehensive 2,500-square foot clinical and research suite with:
- Patient and family waiting area
- Restrooms and changing rooms
- Subject preparation area
- Office space
Computing resources
MEG data analysis is computationally demanding and challenging. Our program has access to powerful computation resources supported by Froedtert's and the Medical College of Wisconsin's information services:
- 16-processors Linux cluster
- Multi-platform data server
- Secured ftp server for rapid and convenient access from on-campus and off-campus collaborators and MEG investigators
