Biography

Khanmi Kasomva, PhD, joins as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratories of Drs. Siegfried Janz and Sridhar Rao. Dr. Kasomva completed his PhD degree from Loyola College, University of Madras, India, where he studied the role of microRNAs in prostate cancer development and metastasis. Before joining MCW, he worked at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, where he focused on understanding the role of the beta-Klotho gene in acinar cells during the development of chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. At MCW, his research focuses on understanding the composition, functional diversity, and differentiation of T cell subsets in multiple myeloma (MM) patients during therapy. Additionally, he is interested in studying genetically engineered mouse models of human MM or MM’s precursor condition, MGUS (monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance).
