Biography
I grew up on a farm just outside of Green Bay, Wisconsin. I was fortunate enough to attend the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and play Division 1 volleyball for 4 years. During my senior year at UW-Green Bay, I took part in a program at MCW called Student Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) where I worked in the AOIP lab for a summer. My project was working with color-deficient individuals and testing their color discrimination while wearing commercially marketed color correcting glasses. I used the Colour Assessment and Diagnostic (CAD) to assess repeatability and quantify the data from color deficient individuals with and without the color correcting glasses. Upon graduation from UW-Green Bay, I decided to take a gap year before applying to medical schools to come back to the AOIP lab and continue doing research.
