Biography

Dr. Hoag completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Northern Iowa and her master’s and doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology. She completed her internship at North Shore/Long Island Jewish Health System and a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) psychology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Hoag has been faculty at the Medical College of Wisconsin since 2012 and currently serves as the Fellowship Director for Pediatric Psycho-Oncology.

Dr. Hoag’s clinical care includes psychological assessment and psychotherapy to pediatric cancer and BMT patients and their families, assessment of neurocognitive deficits post-treatment, and consultation/liaison with hospital staff, schools, and community agencies. She also leads the MACC Fund Center Wellness Committee, which focuses on increasing engagement and wellness for 200 multidisciplinary staff and faculty.

Research Interests

Dr. Hoag’s research interests include physical activity in youth receiving cancer treatment, uses of virtual reality in pediatric cancer care, and psychosocial assessment and management of pediatric sibling hematopoietic stem cell donors.
