Why I chose to do my fellowship with MCW: I had done an observership with MCW prior to residency and was already fond with the place, but the amount of detail Rheumatology faculty and staff put into the recruitment process left an even greater impression in me. My goal was to train in an academic place in an amicable environment with accessible faculty, and I found it!
Advice for applicants: Most rheumatology programs are excellent. Have your priorities clear as to what you want in a program: location, research opportunities, work-life balance and choose the program that best fits you. Your fellowship program might turn into a long-term opportunity, and you want to be in a place where you’re happy.
