Biography

Dr. Wallace completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa and her master’s and Doctorate of Psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Wallace went on to complete her internship at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center and her Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Palliative Care at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. She was the Clinical Health Psychologist at the Van Dyke Cancer Center at Columbia St. Mary’s before joining the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2016.

Research Interests

Dr. Wallace’s clinical interests include assessment and psychotherapy with patients dealing with chronic medical illness and subsequent anxiety, depression and adjustment disorders. She works with patients to modify unhealthy thoughts and behaviors to enhance quality of life with an emphasis on treating the whole person.

Dr. Wallace works with the Psycho-Oncology Program performing initial assessments and follow-up psychological care utilizing mindfulness and cognitive behavioral interventions to help patients adjust to illness and incorporate healthy coping strategies. She also works with the Bariatric Surgery Program performing pre-surgical evaluations and follow-up psychological care as patients cope with lifestyle changes prior to and following surgery.

Dr. Wallace sees outpatients in the Quality of Life Clinic at Froedtert Hospital, located in the Cancer Center as well as the Bariatric Clinic at Froedtert Hospital, located in the Center for Advanced Care Building.
