Department of Radiation Oncology ASTRO-APEx Accreditation Renewed
Following a meticulous application and evaluation process, the Department of Radiation Oncology at MCW has been reaccredited by ASTRO-APEx for the next four years.
The Department of Radiation Oncology has been continuously accredited since 1995, initially as part of the American College of Radiology accreditation program and the ASTRO APEx program beginning in 2019. With its recent reaccreditation, radiation oncology will be a part of APEx until 2027. The one-year process of earning reaccreditation began in 2022 and consists of a medical records review (exclusive of Protected Health Information), submission of documents pertaining to policies and required evidence indicators, and a site visit including interviews with care team members to all Froedtert Health facilities with radiation oncology practices.
The team dedicated many hours to prepare for and execute on reaccreditation requests. Congratulations to the Department of Radiation Oncology on securing ASTRO-APEx accreditation through 2027!
