Research Interests

Dr. Kerns studies genetic and other host factors that predispose patients to development of adverse reactions to cancer therapy, primarily radiotherapy. The goals of this work are to identify novel targets for prevention of radiation side effects and to develop risk prediction models that could be used to personalize cancer treatment.
