Melissa Habrat serves as the Director of Research Information Technology and Innovation for Seattle Children’s Hospital and the Seattle Children’s Research Institute (SCRI). In this capacity, Melissa oversees the the hardware, software development, and deployment of systems that support medical research. She believes that by using advanced technologies, it is possible to accelerate the translation of clinical and bench research into improved public health.
Melissa has an undergraduate degree in computer science and received her Master of Public Health with a concentration in Public Health Informatics from University of Washington. She has over 20 years of healthcare research experience with 15 years specializing in research technology and informatics working with many academic medical centers and private health systems across the country. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, crafting, and attending sporting events.
