Research Interests
Investigating the mechanisms behind the intrinsic resistance of Enterococcus faecalis, a normal commensal of the gastrointestinal tract, to cephalosporin antibiotics. Intrinsic resistance to cephalosporins contributes to the ability of Enterococcus faecalis to become an opportunistic pathogen and major health concern.
