Rho Chi is the academic honor society in pharmacy, which recognizes intellectual achievement, simulates critical inquiry to advance pharmacy practice and fosters collaboration.

"I have enjoyed every single minute of watching you grow and develop into empathetic human beings and competent young professionals,” said Rho Chi faculty advisor Mathew Letizia, PharmD, Director of Professional Labs – Year 1. “You’re here for a reason and you get it. It’s not just about going through the motions – it's about going above and beyond and taking the initiative to be the best versions of yourselves.”

Keynote speaker Matthew Stanton, PharmD, BCPS, DABAT, assistant professor and emergency medicine pharmacist at Froedtert Hospital, encouraged students to embrace their curiosity and to continually seek knowledge.

“In the world of pharmacy, where innovation and compassion intersect, the role of the pharmacist is ever evolving,” said Dr. Stanton. “As members of Rho Chi Honor Society, you are not only scholars, but you’re also leaders who will shape the future of pharmacy. As you step into the illustrious ranks of the society, you will carry not only the weight of achievement, but also the responsibility to question, to challenge and to push the boundaries of pharmaceutical understanding.”

Newly inducted members received a certificate, honor cords and a key pin. Madelyn Heikkila and Anna Little were recognized as president and vice president, respectively, of the Zeta Beta chapter.

Rho Chi faculty advisor Abir El-Alfy, PhD, assistant dean for student affairs and professor, recommended as they progress throughout their pharmacy career, students should keep the word “care” in mind, signifying compassion, authenticity, resilience and excellence.
