Biography
Bonnie LaTourette, PharmD, BCPS is a clinical inpatient pharmacist at Froedtert – Menomonee Falls Hospital. Dr. LaTourette received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from Rutgers University – Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy in 2002. She completed her Pharmacy Practice Residency at Froedtert Hospital in 2003 and became a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist in 2007. After her residency Dr. LaTourette practiced in solid organ transplant, nephrology, and internal medicine. In 2006 she transitioned to the community hospital where she is currently a residency preceptor for internal medicine and infectious diseases.
Research Interests
- Improving patient safety at hospital admission and discharge
- Geriatric care in the inpatient setting
- Strategies to improve attention-to-detail among healthcare professionals
- Pharmacogenomics and precision medicine
As a clinical instructor I enjoy my role in the student’s journey from the classroom to their patient’s bedside. I encourage critical thinking, collaboration and active investigation to improve each patient’s care. I assist learners in developing strategies for lifelong learning and encourage them to routinely ask questions to promote their success as our future pharmacists
