Dr. Dahmen's approach to patient care, whether in the general or oncology clinic, is the same: individualize the approach to care that best fits the patient. It is rare for there to be a single approach to any issue based on any number of factors, emphasizing the need for both the patient and provider to understand what options are on the table as well as the expectations of each to ensure the best possible outcome. In doing so, Dr. Dahmen wants every patient to leave his office with a thorough understanding of the issue that brings them to see him so that a decision can be made as a team with regards to how to proceed, and particularly when surgical care is indicated and appropriate.
