Biography

Advanced heart failure care is not just about the physical body; it is about the mind and soul too! We must go beyond traditional medicine boundaries and take into account the patient's mental and emotional needs as well. For it is important to recognize that while advanced heart failure is a chronic illness exacting primarily a formidable physical burden, there is often an under recognized toll on the mind and spirit that is equally important. By addressing body, mind, and the spirit, we can create a holistic environment that supports a sense of well-being, emotional health, and healing. When it comes to advanced heart failure care delivery, this means recognizing the importance of treating the whole person – mind, body, and spirit. It means considering not just physical symptoms but also psychological and emotional wellbeing. It means fostering an environment that encourages self-reflection and encourages patients to take an active role in their own health care.
