Biography

Dr. Nelson A. Rodriguez-Unda is currently an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin where he trained as a Microsurgeon. He completed his plastic surgery residency in 2022 at Baylor Scott-White in Temple, Texas. Before starting his residency he spent a year as a Post-Doc Research Fellow at the Department of Plastic Surgery at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. He is originally from a small town in southern Ecuador called Loja, he finished his Medical School at the University of Chile in Santiago, Chile.
 
His research interests are: Breast Reconstruction sensory restoration, Quality of Life outcomes, abdominal wall reconstruction and lately Resident education and mentorship.
 
He has presented at local, national and international meetings. Published several manuscripts in the leading plastic surgery journals. As a resident he was a member of the ASPS Resident Council with emphasis on Wellness.
 
In his spare time he enjoys exploring the outdoors with his family and hiking different trails around the Milwaukee area.
