Annual Hoops for Hunger Basketball Tournament Raises More Than $2,600 for Feeding America of Southeastern Wisconsin
The 7th annual Hoops for Hunger charity basketball tournament was held on Saturday, February 24, and was a HUGE success! This year, MCW partnered with the Milwaukee Bucks and returned to their practice facility, the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Sports Science Center, for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.
More than 90 players comprised 12 teams, which included members of each medical school and graduate school class, the All of Us research program, MCW faculty and the Department of Pediatrics faculty members, and residents from orthopedic surgery and internal medicine. After a full day of round-robin and tournament play, the M1 team defeated the M2 team in the championship and took home the coveted perpetual trophy.
Thanks to our players’ and donors’ enthusiasm and generosity, the tournament raised $2,610 for Feeding America of Southeastern Wisconsin! Thank you to the MCW/Marquette Alumni Association and the Office of the Dean of the School of Medicine for their support in making this event a success.
Be on the lookout for the trophy on display on the MCW-Milwaukee campus soon!
