Data Science Institute Welcomes Colbie Reed, PhD

The Data Science Institute is pleased to announce that Colbie Reed, PhD, will be joining us in April 2024 as our first post-doctoral fellow. Dr. Reed will be joining Dr. Hogan’s laboratory working on advanced methods for data interoperability including ontology and referent tracking. Dr. Reed completed her PhD in Microbiology & Cell Science at the University of Florida under the mentorship of Dr. Valérie de Crécy. During her PhD work, she cultivated skills in protein sequence-based comparative genomics, functional annotation, enzyme functional prediction, and biocuration. In particular, her work on biocuration piqued her interest in ontology.
