Hayley Powers, Biochemistry Graduate Student, Named Finalist for ATVB Emerging Scientist Award for Women
Hayley Powers, fourth-year graduate student in the Department of Biochemistry under the mentorship of Dr. Daisy Sahoo, was named a finalist for the Emerging Scientist Award for Women by the ATVB Council of the American Heart Association. The Emerging Scientist Award for Women recognizes excellent research conducted by women, and is given out by the Women's Leadership Committee of the Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology (ATVB) Council of the American Heart Association. Those with the top 5 highest scoring abstracts are named finalists. Hayley was recognized for her achievement at the Vascular Discovery meeting held in Seattle from May 12-14.
