Whether you are a prince or a pauper, you can enjoy the benefits of the diet that science shows optimizes our health and reduces our risk of dying prematurely. Join us for a two-part presentation: (1) Plant-based on a budget: 30 minutes with Executive Director Brian Hart; and (2) Budget-minded cooking demo: 30 minutes with Ann and Jane Esselstyn.

Master educator Brian Hart identifies roadblocks to change and develops onramps to healthy solutions. Through lecture and discussion, his presentation reveals challenges and creates strategies to best implement a plant-based lifestyle. Special consideration is given to “how we got here” as a species and culture, as well as how to overcome “the pleasure trap.”

Oats, Flats, and Bowls: A Plant-Based Cooking Demo | September 23, 2022

Lecturers: Ann Crile Esselstyn, MEd; Jane Esselstyn

Ann and Jane, co-authors of the Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease Cookbook, will explain and demonstrate the principles of cooking to prevent and reverse heart disease. This lecture and cooking demo will explore some of the many whole foods, plant-based ingredients that have shown to lower cholesterol levels, reduce blood pressure and improve blood glucose numbers. Special attention will be paid to the oats, flats, and bowls approach.
