Academic Enhancement
MCW’s Academic Enhancement is an outstanding supplemental instruction program provided throughout the M1, M2 and M3 year. Tutors are MCW medical students who work closely with Academic Support and Enrichment and Course Directors and Coordinators to provide accurate, up-to-date information to be delivered in line with the course syllabus. All supplemental instruction provided through the Academic Enhancement program is delivered in an online format. Academic Enhancement material is made available to students in the Academic Enhancement D2L course of their year.
M1 Academic Enhancement
Online group sessions are delivered in two formats throughout the M1 year, a two-hour comprehensive lecture review and a one-hour Q&A review. These group sessions are held on a weekly basis throughout the school year. Academic Support and Enrichment offers supplemental instruction for the following M1 courses:
- Anatomy
- Molecules to Cells
- Physiology
- Infectious Agents & Host Immunity
- Principles of Drug Action
- Medical Neuroscience
M2 Academic Enhancement
Online group sessions are delivered in one format throughout the M2 year: a two-hour comprehensive lecture review. These group sessions are offered once or twice weekly depending on the course schedule and tutor. Academic Support and Enrichment offers supplemental instruction for the following M2 courses:
- Foundations of Pathological Processes-MSS
- Cardiovascular
- Renal-Respiratory
- Heme-Lymph
- GI-Nutrition
- Endo-Repro
- Neuro-Psych
- Symptoms
Clerkship Academic Enhancement
Supplemental instruction material for clerkship reviews is made available to students throughout the year within the Clerkship Academic Enhancement D2L course. Students’ are encouraged to attend live online sessions when scheduled and to utilize uploaded review material and recordings for clerkship success. Academic Support and Enrichment offers supplemental instruction for the following clerkships:

- Family Medicine
- Psychiatry
- Internal Medicine
- Pediatrics
