What time can guests arrive at The Weidner Theater?

Doors to the Theatre will open to guests beginning at 10 a.m. Open seating will be available to all guests on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Does The Weidner Theater accommodate ADA seating? 

The Weidner Theater is fully handicap accessible and offers multiple wheelchair spaces. MCW staff will be happy to help locate that seating for your family members when they arrive.

Do I need tickets for my guests attending the Commencement Ceremonies?

No. The Commencement Ceremonies are on a first-come, first-serve basis and no tickets are required. The Weidner Theater can accommodate over 2,000 guests.

What is the parking like near The Weidner Theater?

Ample parking is available near The Weidner Theater. The Weidner Center Lots, marked by building 13, are closest to the theater.

Who is the Commencement Speaker for 2024?

John Schneider will be speaking on behalf of his parents and honorary degree recipients, William and Sandra Schneider.

Will the Commencement Ceremony be live-streamed?

The entire MCW community is invited to lend its support to the 2024 graduating students by attending the Ceremony in person, or virtually via MCW’s YouTube channel.

What time should students arrive at The Weidner Theater?

Students should report to the Weidner Theatre no later than 9:15 a.m. and should check in with the Events Team immediately upon arrival.

How do I get a cap and gown for the ceremonies?

Student regalia should have been ordered through the Jostens Portal prior to April 11. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please reach out to mcwevents@mcw.edu.

How do I wear my regalia?

When do I receive my Diploma?

You will receive your official diploma when you cross the stage.

What is the process for photos and videos during the ceremony?

Professional photographers will be taking photos of each graduate at the ceremony. Guests should refrain from approaching the stage to take pictures or video during the ceremony.

How long will the ceremony take?

The commencement ceremony will last approximately one (1) hour.
