Dr. Meena Bedi Appointed Vice Chair of Radiation Oncology
Manpreet (Meena) Bedi, MD, MS, professor of radiation oncology, has been appointed vice chair of radiation oncology, effective February 1. Dr Bedi will join the administrative management team of the department where she will oversee faculty assignments and facilitate departmental operations across the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Radiation Oncology network.
The role of vice chair was previously held by Dr. Colleen Lawton, who retired in January following nearly 40 years of service to MCW.
Dr Bedi attended medical school at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, then completed her radiation oncology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She joined the radiation oncology faculty in 2013 as an instructor and was promoted to professor, with secondary appointments in general surgery, orthopedic surgery, and the School of Graduate Studies in July 2023.
Dr Bedi also is the Sharon K. Wadina Endowed Chair in Sarcoma Research, which includes serving as the director of the Sarcoma Program in the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center. As program leader, Dr. Bedi has coordinated patient and healthcare provider symposiums, as well as raised over $1 million for cancer research through philanthropic events she has chaired for the Sarcoma Foundation of America.
